Influential Person : My Mama (",)

In our lives, many people effect us in positive and in negative
ways. However, none influence us greater than our immediate family,
namely our parents and siblings. Although it is not appropriate to
compare our loved ones, I must admit that one person has had the
greatest positive effect on myself than anyone I have ever met. The
number of things Superstars, superheroes, or even friends can teach
you can never compare to what this one universal word that represents
the greatest person in all our lives, "mother". Norashikin Osman, my
mother, has raised me to believe and follow several values and
lessons. These same values are as the word entails, very valuable to
myself and should be valuable to many who do not know these values.
My mother has done countless things for me in my life such as teaching
me morals & Islamic values, getting me to do what I have to do even if I genuinely did
not want to, and perhaps something I find most important in my
existence of knowledge, to never quit.
Many who see me and the way I act in public most of the time
think I am either very polite or unusual which today could have the
same meaning(hahaha…is that so?). If I see someone in need of assistance, I try to help as well as I also hold doors open for people if their arms are full or just
to be polite. Also, I try to watch my language as much as possible
and try to contain my anger the best I can. Basically, you can shorten
it up to treating people the way you want to be treated yourself,
walking straight and narrow, and being the best person you can
possibly be. These are things that my mother has taught me to do and
they are key lessons to follow.
My mother also has done other things for me besides motivation.
For example, she cooks, cleans, and wakes me up in the morning.
These may sound like minor details but without them life could not
continue. She made sure I had my homework before I went to school
in the morning and made sure I studied for the test or quiz that would
await that day. If I didn't understand something for homework, I'd go
to my mother and she'd help me the best she could and if she didn't
know it, she'd find someone who could help me so she knew I was
keeping up to date with my work. Also, when I find myself between a
rock and a hard spot, your mother, no matter what you did, will
always be there to care about you and talk to no matter the situation.
That is "unconditional love" which you can not get from a friend or a
celebrity no matter how much you wish or thought you could.
Another lesson my mother taught me was to never surrender.
This is the most important aspect of my life. Many times people have
told me that I can't accomplish something, or I can't do it and I have
proved everyone, except myself and my mother, wrong. For example,
High school, when I started they wanted me to be in the lower classes,
Special Education classes for nearly everything. I insisted on having
real classes such as Math, Science, and English and they gave me the
classes in main stream not expecting that I could handle it. With little
help from teachers and students, and with hard work and effort, not
only did I handle High School, I also got a Grade Point Average of
3.2 which is above average. I did what my mother raised me to do,
stand up for myself and never settle for second best because being the
biggest, brightest, or having the greatest vision doesn't make you the
best, being the best you can be makes you the best you can be.
My life is not perfect and to say it is an extreme overstatement.
However when you have someone like my mother looking over you
and guiding you, your life can be as good, if not better than anyone
else. .I could go on for countless numbers of pages talking about all
my mother has done for me but it would destroy too many trees to
write it all down because there are not enough in the free world to
handle it. With the motivational help and attention she shows me every
day of my life I feel good about myself and that is what an influential
person is all about. In closing, a saying I heard her say that makes
allot of sense to myself is "Always be good to your family and friends,
they're the only ones who will be there in the end". She’s not even a mother but such an angle that brighten up my whole entire life. Thank you so much mama…I Love u !!! (“,)

Yours,
